Just because I'm a paragon doesn't mean I have to farm stuff with a spear. If I were to say use snoring or farm desolation HM or something, not much I could do with that without limiting myself to RoJ with glowing singet. But I'm sure using anthem of flame will get me all my energy back like you said.

sorry... I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't talking about farming, I was talking about 4 man parties (in RA and in early game area HM) like you stated in the OP.

I actually have much respect (when it comes to paras) for Khomet as well, but constantly trying to compare paras with the recently OVERBUFFED dervs is actually getting kinda stupid. just wait a few more weeks/months when ANet realizes how much they have made dervs overpowered and starts nerfing them (we all know its coming)

There was another dervish update a few days ago, they reduced duration on a few things but they didn't touch energy at all. Looks like the new dervs are here to stay.

I think it is perfectly fair to compare paragons to dervishes, since they are both from the same expansion and have the same number of skills. The big difference is that dervishes have needed a major overhaul for years, and they finally got it. Paragons need the same kind of treatment but they are still waiting.

Here's another imbalance factor that people may not have thought of yet --
vampiric scythe mods still give 5 lifestealing per hit (and up to 3 hits) while vampiric spear mods only give 3 lifestealing per hit. When the scythe attack rate was 1 attack per 1.7 seconds like the hammer this might have been justified, but now that scythes and spears attack at the same speed, the scythe is up to 5x more lifestealing than the spear. (!)

You can't really look at balance in a localized fashion like that. Derv is imbalanced, but hardly because of vamp mods.

This issue is not that important, but I mention it because it is such a simple thing to balance and they still manage to get it wrong. @ Kunder. What's wrong with the comparison between vapiric scythes and spears? It's just unfair paragon's can hit 1 target max, while the dervs can hit 3 more and with +2 life stealing more.
So when a paragon hits a group he gets 3 HP (he can only hit 1 mob)
When a derv hits a group he gets 15 HP

Let's say these is a clustered group for in both cases.
And they have the same attack speed.

hey don't have them mess up my vampiric splinter barrage
(yes i know only the initial barrage gets the lifesteal, and man do i love it)

you know, it is kinda messed up that weapons with AoE capability gets more lifesteal than single target weapons

ok you got me on that one
